Finding a picture a day during the weeks leading up to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis hasn’t been hard, but choosing which picture gets posted has been a challenge. Today I volunteered at Turf: The IDADA Art Pavilion. Turf is an experiential gallery with exhibits appealing to senses of sight, sound and touch. It is housed at 202 N. Alabama in a beautiful building that served as city hall from 1910-1962. The exhibit is free and there is a cafe for lunch and dinner. This is Bull in a China Shop by Lesley Baker, an assistant professor at the Herron School of Art and Design. It is constructed of wood from shipping pallets that have moved items around the world. There is a lot more to this piece than meets the eye. Here’s a short video that shows another piece I really enjoyed at Turf.
