Author and football great Tim Green has been making the rounds of schools this week talking to students a little about his football career and a lot about his writing career. Early this morning I watched him charm a group of 6th graders at Riverside Intermediate School in Fishers (not an easy job at 8am). Green, for many years was a star defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons. Tim graduated co-valedictorian from Syracuse University, was a first-round NFL draft pick, and later earned his law degree with honors. Tim has also drawn on his experiences as an athlete and coach to write over a dozen action-packed books for kids and adults, including the New York Times bestseller Football Genius. To date, he has used every cent of his speaking fees to buy copies of his books for kids, libraries, and schools who couldn’t otherwise afford them. After hearing his football stories I am ready for the Super Bowl in Indy.
